In many ways, it carries the same pressure as filming the series itself. Not only was I the producer and director, but because we were working with a very tight budget, I was also wearing several other hats throughout production. Like many independent filmmakers, I wasn’t just directing scenes. I was coordinating logistics, managing equipment, solving problems, answering crew questions, and making sure we stayed on schedule and within budget. The Small Oversight That Cost Us Three Production Hours

As a young producer leading one of the biggest shoots of my career, the last thing I wanted was to appear unprepared. The first day of production started smoothly until we needed to offload footage from the RED MINI-MAG media cards used by our RED Gemini camera. Those were probably the longest three hours of my filmmaking career. I kept looking around at the experienced actors and crew members who had worked on productions far bigger than mine. In my head, I wasn’t thinking about the missing card reader anymore; I was thinking about how I was being perceived. Had I lost their confidence? Did they think I was unprepared?

Projects rarely fall apart because someone forgot the camera. They fall apart because someone forgot the small things.
