FILM EQUIPMENT RENTAL

By renting equipment from BC Studios, whether online or at our locations, you agree to abide by our terms and conditions.

Pickup and return hours:

  • Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

  • Saturday: 9:00 AM - 4PM

Government ID and Requirements

  • Any valid North American or International government identification is accepted (in English). All non-residents of Canada must carry an international valid passport.

Security Deposit

  • We accept all major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Diners Club) for the security deposit. Debit cards, cash, and checks are not accepted as valid forms of security deposit.

  • The security deposit amount varies based on the replacement value of the entire equipment being rented. It ranges from $500 to $10,000.

  • The security deposit amount, along with all rental charges, must be chargeable at the time of rental. This ensures that the total amount is covered and helps safeguard against any potential damages or losses.

  • Please note that the security deposit will be refunded to your credit card within 24 hours upon the return of the equipment in its original condition, minus any applicable charges for damages or missing items.

Payment Methods

We accept the following methods of payment: Debit Card, VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, and cash. We do not accept cheques as a valid form of payment.

Cancellation

  • Rental credits are provided for all cancellations made no later than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup date. The rental credits can be used for future rentals.

  • If you've already picked up your rental but wish to cancel or reschedule, rental credit will be applied to the remaining days of your rental. However, you will be charged for the days the equipment is with you, whether it's used or not

Rescheduling

  • If you wish to reschedule your reservation, a minimum notice of 24 hours before the pickup date is required. Failure to provide the required notice will result in a 50% rescheduling fee.

We understand that circumstances may change, and we strive to accommodate our customers to the best of our abilities. However, please note that last-minute cancellations or rescheduling may result in inconvenience and loss of potential bookings for other customers.

Return and Extension

  • Extension requests are subject to approval and depend on equipment availability. To request an extension, please contact us via phone or email at least 24 hours prior to the original return time.

  • All rentals are due for return by 11:00 am on the designated return date. Please ensure that the equipment is returned on time to avoid any late fees. In the event of a return overdue, a half-day charge will be applied from 2:00 pm and the full-day rate will be applied from 5:00 pm on the due date.

If you wish to extend your rental period, please contact us at contact@budgetcamera.ca or call us at 437-370-4580. We will assist you in processing the extension request and provide further instructions.

DELIVERY

We offer gear drop-off and delivery services only in Greater Toronto and surrounding areas. The cost will be determined based on the distance from our facility.

Delivery starts from 10:00 AM EST. 

Please factor in a 2-hour buffer from the scheduled delivery time.

We can deliver your rentals within a 100km radius from our location. We thoroughly test all our equipment before delivery to ensure they are in perfect working condition. Please make sure to inspect the equipment list with the driver during drop-off.

We guarantee that our equipment is tested and well-protected from damage during transportation. The client is responsible for any damage or issues that may occur while the equipment is in their possession.

All rental processes and requirements must be completed at least one hour before the scheduled delivery. If not, the delivery will be canceled, and a rental credit or partial refund will be applied to renter's account.

Our delivery team will provide an estimated delivery time, and the driver will contact you upon arrival at your location. Please meet the driver outside the building/location. Note that the driver will only wait for 10 minutes, and if no one shows up, the equipment will be returned to us. Redelivery will be at the renter's expense.

 

 

STUDIO BOOKING

For Filming

  • For production involving more guests below 18 years, Alcohol cannot be consumed!

  • Customers are responsible for any damages done by themselves or their guests during booked time.

  • Please stay within booked capacity; exceeding the booked number of persons inside the property will incur an added cost of $25 per person.

  • Our studio attendants can check the rooms during your studio time if the maximum capacity is exceeded. Or suspected violation of studio rules and/or safety.

  • Customers are to exit the studio upon extra time expiration. An overtime penalty of $100/hr begins to be incurred on the first 10 minutes past booked time.

  • Booked time include every time spent in the studio weather filming, setting up or tearing down

  • Dry ice, fog, and haze machines are allowed but must be monitored at all times.

  • The rental fee must be paid in full before using the space.

  • Standing or stepping on the furniture is prohibited. If you need to move furniture or props, please lift the items and do not drag them—this damage both the floors and furniture legs. If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our studio staff.

  • All common areas are camera monitored, but we do not have cameras inside the studio rooms and event space.

  • Contact us if you need any technical or creative assistance.

  • Use the garage door at the back entrance for undocking and moving props and equipment.

  • We reserve the right to terminate the booking without refunds if we feel that any of these rules are violated.

For Event

  • Booking must be completed by adults only (18 years +)

  • For events involving more guests below 18 years, Alcohol cannot be served!

  • Consuming liquor on the premises is allowed only for adults, but No selling of liquor!

  • All form of smoking, vaping and shisha is prohibited inside the property.

  • Booking comes with an extra 1hr for preparation and set-ups and another 1hr for tear down and pack-ups. That means you’ll get two free hours added to your booked time.

  • Customers are responsible for any damages done by themselves or their guests during booked time.

  • Please stay within booked capacity; exceeding the booked number of persons inside the property will incur an added cost of $25 per person.

  • Our studio attendants can check the rooms during your studio time if the maximum capacity is exceeded. Or suspected violation of studio rules and/or safety.

  • Customers are to exit the studio upon extra time expiration. An overtime penalty of $180/hr begins to be incurred on the first minute past extra time.

  • No sales of tickets or entrance fees on the property or premises.

  • Consumption of food is allowed, but sales are not allowed on the property or premises.

  • Sales of goods and merchandise are not allowed on the property.

  • Dry ice, fog, and haze machines are allowed but must be monitored at all times.

  • The rental fee and security deposit must be paid in full before using the space.

  • Standing or stepping on the furniture is prohibited. If you need to move furniture or props, please lift the items and do not drag them—this damage both the floors and furniture legs. If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our studio staff.

  • All common areas are camera monitored, but we do not have cameras inside the studio rooms and event space.

  • Booking the studio for event automatically gives you access to the entire space.

  • Contact us if you need any technical or creative assistance.

  • Use the garage door at the back entrance for undocking and moving props and equipment.

  • We reserve the right to terminate the booking without refunds if we feel that any of these rules are violated.

(FOR EVENTS ONLY) A $750 security hold will be authorized on your bank card. This covers damages, exceeded capacity and time or other studio violations. In a case where incurred cost is beyond security hold, the difference will be charged to your authorized card on file. A small non-refundable deposit is required to secure date.

 

PETS

  • A $250 refundable security hold is required for bringing pets into the studio. This covers damages and/or muck. Please be sure to contact the studio beforehand.
