It’s worth noting that a linear polarizer differs from a circular polarizer as it lacks an additional quarter-wave plane. The quarter-wave plane is added to circularly polarize linearly polarized light, making it compatible with auto-focus and exposure functions. However, using a linear polarizer can affect in-camera auto-focus and exposure accuracy since it filters light differently. When light becomes circularly polarized, it enables the use of these functions.
