Venus Optics Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe is a truly unique lens designed for close-up shooting. Distinguished by its long, slender lens barrel, this macro lens provides a 2:1 maximum magnification with a 1.5′ minimum focusing distance and a close 0.8″ minimum working distance. Even with such a close working distance, the lens measures 1.3′ long, placing you at a comfortable distance to photograph nearby subjects. Also, as a wide-angle lens, greater depth of field is afforded when compared to traditional telephoto macro lenses, which allows for greater detail in the background with less subject isolation.
The optical design includes both extra-low dispersion and extra refractive index elements, which help to suppress chromatic and spherical aberrations for a high degree of clarity, color accuracy, and sharpness. Manual focus control permits focusing from 1.5′ to infinity, and the front of the lens has a built-in LED ring light to aid in focusing at close distances. The slim 0.8″ diameter of the front of the lens barrel also offers greater opportunities for lighting subjects from the front. Additionally, the front portion of the lens is waterproof, and permits working with subjects just beneath the surface of water or in other dusty or trying environments.

Its unique macro design offers an impressive 2:1 maximum magnification, a minimum focusing distance of 1.5′, and a remarkably short working distance of just 0.8′. The extended tubular lens barrel creates a distinctive bug-eye perspective while maintaining a comfortable shooting distance. With a 24mm focal length, it allows for greater depth of field and more surrounding detail than traditional telephoto macro lenses. The optical design incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements to control color fringing and chromatic aberrations, along with an extra refractive index element to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion, resulting in enhanced sharpness and precise rendering. 💳 Security Authorization
A small hold will be placed on your credit/debit card. The hold will be canceled upon the return of the rental.
We offer a convenient delivery service for all our rental gear within a 100km radius of our location. Our goal is to ensure you have everything you need on time and in perfect working condition.
Request: You can request delivery at any time during your reservation—in person, via email, or by phone.
Equipment Testing: All gear is thoroughly tested before delivery to ensure it’s fully functional and ready for use.
Inspection Upon Arrival: When the driver arrives, please inspect the equipment and verify the equipment list to ensure everything is in order.
Rental Requirements: To avoid cancellation, please ensure all rental processes and requirements are completed at least 2 hours before the scheduled delivery time. If not completed, the delivery will be canceled, and rental credit will be applied to your account.
Protection & Responsibility: We ensure all equipment is well-protected and safely transported. Once delivered, the client is responsible for any damage or issues that may arise while the equipment is in their possession.
