Rent the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II Lens, Sony’s next-generation standard zoom built for pros. With a constant f/2.8 aperture, advanced optics, and lightning-fast autofocus, it delivers sharp images, smooth bokeh, and reliable performance for both photography and filmmaking in a compact, lightweight design.
Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II Lens is Sony’s next-generation standard zoom, designed for photographers and filmmakers who demand professional performance in a compact, lightweight body. As part of the “holy trinity” of fast zooms, this lens combines cutting-edge optical design, enhanced autofocus technology, and remarkable handling to deliver outstanding results across a wide variety of shooting scenarios. Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II features a constant f/2.8 aperture, enabling excellent low-light performance and shallow depth of field for subject isolation. The updated optical construction incorporates two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and two Super ED elements to minimize chromatic aberration and maintain color fidelity, while five aspherical elements, including two extreme aspherical (XA) elements, reduce distortion and spherical aberrations. The result is sharp, high-resolution images with stunning clarity, rivalling that of prime lenses.
Sony’s Nano AR Coating II suppresses flare and ghosting, even in challenging backlit situations. An advanced floating focusing mechanism ensures edge-to-edge sharpness at all distances, while the lens’s close-up capabilities impress with a minimum focusing distance of 8.3 inches at 24mm and 11.8 inches at 70mm, offering a maximum magnification of 0.32x. Autofocus performance is significantly improved thanks to four XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear Motors, which provide faster, quieter, and more precise AF compared to the previous generation. This makes the lens equally adept for capturing fast-moving subjects in stills and delivering smooth, silent focusing in video. Full AF tracking is maintained even at high burst rates up to 30 fps.
